Potadóir is, at its heart, a family business and an expression of our deep love for clay & creativity.

who are we?

POTADÓIR

Potadoir is a pottery brand. We make bespoke and small batch handmade ceramics. We also teach pottery; we’re currently fitting out our purpose-built pottery school and zen yoga space in Ennis. Potadóir is based in County Clare, and it’s a two-person team.

Everything we do is passion-driven: Potadóir is a passion project that’s turned in to a business, and we keep that energy at the heart of everything we do.

Kevin is the potter; all the work produced by Potadóir is made by hand by Kevin in the studio in Spanish Point.

He learned his trade unconventionally; originally trained as a lawyer, he enrolled in a throwing for beginners course in Dublin in 2022, and instantly became obsessed.

In 2023, he travelled from Ireland to Morocco by land - through France, Portugal and Spain. The journey was a pilgrimage to clay - every stop was a different masterclass, studio or immersive experience in pottery. After months of seeking pottery experiences, he settled in Oslo to produce work and absorb the creative inspiration of Scandinavian design.

In 2024, he relocated to West Clare, and Potadoir was born!

Dzana is the spiritual backbone and much of the organising force behind Potadóir; she manages the yoga studio, and runs our meditation and mindfulness practices.

Dzana trained as a yoga teacher over 6 years ago, and she has taught all over the country in that time. Her practice is rooted deeply in the philosophy of yoga, and of Buddhism. Both Dzana and Kevin follow the Plum Village tradition of Buddhism, which is woven throughout Dzana’s teaching offerings. You can learn more about the Plum Village tradition of Buddhism here.

LET’S GET CREATIVE

Come and experience pottery in my studio in Spanish Point! I offer one-off studio experiences, weekend courses, and blocks of evening classes to suit all experience levels. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist, or a creative person, to have fun with clay - just come with an open mind and a willingness to get a bit messy!

I run regular blocks of evening classes (next one starting in August) and am very flexible with organising experiences for groups of friends/family.
